Code of Conduct of the Missouri Society of Mayflower Descendants

The Missouri Society of Mayflower Descendants (Also known as “the Society”, “MOSMD” or “The Society of Mayflower Descendants in the State of Missouri”) is a lineage society dedicated to the various purposes set forth in the Society’s Constitution; including but not limited to education pertaining to memory of our Pilgrim ancestors, maintaining and defending the principles of civil and religious liberty as set forth in the Compact of the Mayflower, promoting the interests that are common to all Mayflower descendants, and such other purposes as come within the meaning of and comply with Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. Participation in the Society’s programs is subject to the observance of the Society’s rules and procedures. Any Society officer, member, volunteer, employee, consultant, and/or contractor who violates this Code of Conduct is subject to discipline, up to and including removal from the activities of the Society and/or termination of his or her membership in the Society (in accordance with the provisions of the Society’s Constitution and Bylaws). The activities outlined below are strictly prohibited: Abusive language towards or by any officer or board of assistant’s member to another officer, member, volunteer, consultant, and/or contractor, whether in written or verbal form

Verbal, physical, psychological, visual, and/or sexual harassment of another an officer, member, volunteer, consultant, and/or contractor, whether in written, electronic or verbal form

Discourtesy or rudeness towards any officer, member, volunteer, employee, consultant, and/or contractor whether in written or verbal form

Engaging in any illegal conduct while involved in any activity of the Society, including activity as an officer, board of assistant’s member, volunteer, consultant, and/or contractor

Bringing into any meeting of the Society or event of the Society, any dangerous or unauthorized materials such as controlled substances (e.g. drugs), explosives, firearms, weapons or other similar items

Conduct endangering the life, safety, health or well-being of any other person, including but not limited to any officer, member, volunteer, consultant, and/or contractor

Failure to follow any policy or procedure as prescribed by the Board of Assistants communicated through the Governor, or the Deputy Governor

Purpose

The Society of Mayflower Descendants in the State of Missouri (MoMayflowerSociety) recognizes the importance of protecting the privacy of the users of this web site. The MoMayflowerSociety website is a fundamental communication tool for providing critical, informative and interactive services to its members and the community at large. The goal of MoMayflowerSociety’s Web site is to encourage member/client participation, to enable electronic service delivery to both members and the public, and to privide better, more timely, information and data. MoMayflowerSociety does not use its Web site to collect personal information for any purpose other than to respond to a user’s request or input, or to complete an online transaction. Except as provided below, MoMayflowerSociety does not create individual profiles with the information provided by users of this site, nor does it give such personal information to third parties or private organizations. Web usage summary statistics are gathered for site management, and other purposes such as assessing what information is of most and least interest, determining technical design specifications, and identifying system performance issues. We automatically collect and store the following information about your visit:

The Internet domain (for example, “xcompany.com” if you use a private Internet access account, or “yourschool.edu” if you connect from a university’s domain) and IP address from which you access the MoMayflowerSociety website;

The type of browser and operating system used to access the MoMayflowerSociety website;

The date and time and duration of the visit;

The pages visited;

If you link to the MoMayflowerSociety website from another Web site, the address of that Web site.

MoMayflowerSociety does not collect information for commercial marketing from its Web site. MoMayflowerSociety will not send you unsolicited email regarding any commercial offers or advertisements at any time.

If a user chooses to provide MoMayflowerSociety with personal identifying information, such as sending an e-mail to a MoMayflowerSociety employee or by filling out and submitting an online application/submission form (that may require submission of personal identifying information) located on MoMayflowerSociety’s Web site, MoMayflowerSociety may use that information to respond to the user’s message, to assist in obtaining information the user may have requested, or use the information in the manner contemplated by the online submission form. MoMayflowerSociety treats e-mails and submitted online forms the same way it treats written corresponcence. As further stated below, an online application/submission form containing personal identifying information will not be disclosed except as permitted by law.

In order to provide electronic commerce capabilities, the name, address and payment information (if applicable) that the user might provide when using this Web site may be collected, processed and disclosed to complete an online transaction and for record-keeping for such activities as billing and other business-related purposes.
